Wine tasting in Manarola

One hour in a former cellar in the center of Manarola, near the small harbor, with three local wines and something to eat: the white Cinque Terre DOC, a red IGT and Sciacchetrà. This is the shortest and simplest option on this list, for those who want to know what's in the glasses before buying a bottle.

Wine tasting in Manarola

The experience

The tasting takes place at the Cantina Zio Bramante, a former cellar in the center of Manarola near the small harbor, today a bar and renovated wine shop. The listing describes it as a place where you drink wine, listen to music, sometimes live, and eat local cuisine. On arrival ask for Gabriel, the host. In one hour you taste three wines, in the order indicated by the listing: the Cinque Terre white DOC, a Cinque Terre red IGT and the Sciacchetrà, the sweet wine. With the wines come local snacks, while Gabriel tells the story and tradition of Cinque Terre wine.

Two things to know. There is no transport: you reach Manarola on your own. And the listing mentions an evening, but available times vary: check them on GetYourGuide for your date. The context helps you understand what you are drinking. The Cinque Terre have two DOC wines, Cinque Terre and Sciacchetrà, made from Bosco, Albarola and Vermentino grapes, grown on the terraces, the "fasce" of the slopes.

The price starts from $37 per person (GetYourGuide, October 2026), with free cancellation up to 24 hours before. To get to Manarola the regional train stops in the village: the Cinque Terre ticket costs €5, €8 or €10 for an adult according to band A, B or C, from 14 March to 1 November 2026 (the Trenitalia Cinque Terre page; the days of each band are on the Trenitalia band calendar). Manarola is also the end of the Via dell'Amore, which is only walked from Riomaggiore towards Manarola, with reservation and inside a Cinque Terre Card.

What travellers say

★★★★★

It was fantastic to do the tasting with Gabriel. First of all because the tavern is delightful [...] with its thick stone walls. Then because the wines are splendid [...] The nibbles are delicious and Gabriel’s storytelling is engaging and fun. 10/10!

We had a very nice guide and were able to taste three wines, accompanied by typical, abundant nibbles. During the tasting they told us historical facts and talked about the viticulture of the area. We were very satisfied and would do it again.

Gabriel knew the history of the cellar and the village very well and talked about it with passion. The wines and pairings were excellent, he even made me try new things!!

A fantastic tasting with Gabriel, who explained a lot about his wines and the history of his family. The nibbles were a nice touch, but the anchovies with that white wine! Unbelievable!
